The Neotürk Conference has defined new directions in Turkology

The international scientific conference "Neotürk: at the turn of the Century and technology" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for young Turkologists and students.
The joint event, organized by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the International Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage, is aimed at attracting young scientists to study the language, history and culture of the Turkic peoples.
The conference event was attended by Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, President of the International Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage, statesman and public figure Aktoty Raimkulova, Director of the Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics Anar Fazylzhan, Adviser on Education at the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Ayhan Korkmaz, foreign scientists and experts, heads of research institutes, young researchers and students.
Before the start of the conference, the opening ceremony of the Abduali Kaidar International Center for Turkic Culture and Heritage was held at the Faculty of Philology of KazNU. At the center, students will be able not only to conduct their research, but also to engage in international projects. Also, through the academic mobility program, scientists from all over the world will visit the center and share their knowledge and experience. In addition, KazNU students will be able to do internships at foreign universities.
Opening the event, the head of KazNU, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, informed about the work carried out at the university to enhance ties between the Turkic peoples. "Speaking at the fourth meeting of the National Kurultai, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted: "We do a lot for the development of science, including for conducting applied research. Our whole history teaches us not to divide, but to bind, not to destroy, but to build. It is necessary to modernize and systematically glorify our historical and cultural heritage in accordance with the 21st century"
The University is actively involved in the development of spirituality, education, and science in the Turkic world. The International Congress of Turkologists is held annually. Today, the Department of Turkology and Language Theory is successfully operating in the educational institution. A Scientific research Institute of Turkology and Altai Studies has been established on the basis of KazNU. Nowadays, when science and culture are developing side by side, we need new thoughts and creative views. At the same time, young Turkologists have a lot of responsibility. Studying the rich heritage of the Turkic world from the point of view of today is not only a recognition of the past, but also a focus on the future", - said the rector.
In turn, President of the International Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage Aktoty Raimkulova noted that in order to strengthen the unity of the Turkic peoples, it is necessary to intensify work in the cultural and spiritual spheres.
"Our common duty is to provide the younger generation with high–quality education, proper upbringing, and decent opportunities. The dreams of the younger generation determine the direction of the future. Today's international conference of young Turkologists opens the way for deep reflection and discussion on this important topic. The 21st century is a time of interaction and spiritual rapprochement. The Eurasian space is a region where different cultures are intertwined, deep experience and history have been accumulated. The Turkic peoples have been communicating and cooperating with each other for centuries. Today, the uniqueness and solidarity of the Turkic world have become more important than ever. This unity should be based not only on a common history and language, but also on faith in a common future", - said Aktoty Rakhmetollakizi.
Also at the international conference, scientific reports were made by Anar Fazylzhan, Director of the Akhmet Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics, Ayhan Korkmaz, Adviser on Education at the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty (Turkey), Raushangul Avakov, Professor, Head of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, author of the Russian translation of the work "Divani lugat At-Turk", Professor Zifa-Alua Auezova (the Netherlands), Director of the Islamic Research Institute of SAMK Torali Kydyr and other scientists.
Within the framework of the scientific conference, events were held in the format of motivational lectures by famous TEDx Turkologists. The participants of the event took part in panel discussions on the following topics: "Monuments of Turkic writing: Department of Textual Studies and Translations", "Askar Kurmashuly Yegeubayev: scholar of medieval monuments", "Historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples at the turn of the Century", "Mahmud Kashgari and the Turkic world", "Turkey and global processes Language, history and culture".
The participants were presented with an exhibition of poster presentations "Turkic Heritage: New research", as well as master classes on research methods in online format. The scientific papers of the participants following the results of the conference will be published in the form of an electronic collection and placed in the electronic library.
