KazNU supports "Step into Science" challenge

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has supported the Step into Science challenge, organized by scientists from D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University in honor of Science Day.

Asel Abdullayeva, a senior lecturer at KazNU, currently works at the University's Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management.

According to the young scientist, her interest in science is formed thanks to the knowledge and directions given by the university teachers.

"While studying for my doctorate, I carried out work on monitoring the danger of weathering of glacial-moraine lakes located on the northern slope of the Trans-Ili Alatau using GIS technologies and remote sensing of the Earth. The results of this study are especially important for the protection of settlements, economic facilities, and infrastructure located in the lower part of the Trans-Ili Alatau. This is my first step towards science. The second step is related to my work at the university where I studied. Science is the way to a sustainable future", - says Assel Sabitovna.

It should be noted that Assel Abdullayeva is the winner of the grant funding competition for young scientists for 2025-2027.
