ACROSS SPACE AND TIME: A LIFE DEDICATED TO SCIENCE
IN MEMORY OF DR. EDGAR HOFFMANN

We invite faculty members, master's  degree and PhD  students of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory, as well as all those who had the privilege of attending Professor Edgar Hoffmann’s lectures and were personally acquainted with him, to take part in this roundtable discussion.

The roundtable will be held in an open format and will focus on Professor Hoffmann's academic contributions and legacy. Participants will share their memories of him from scientific internships, joint research trips, conferences, and personal conversations.

Dr. Edgar Hoffmann was the author of numerous scholarly works and projects, and a professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Vienna, Austria). His research interests included the language of advertising, business communication, onomastics, linguistic identity, the history of Slavic studies, and intercultural communication. He generously shared his knowledge with young scholars at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, delivering lectures and providing consultations to doctoral students and all who sought his guidance.
