The practice of preparing a scientific publication

On the eve of Science Day, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a seminar on bringing scientific journals to the international level and including them in the Scopus database. The event was attended by members of the editorial boards of scientific journals, editors-in-chief, young researchers and doctoral students.

The seminar was conducted by a renowned scientist with extensive experience in the Scopus system, PhD, Professor Zheksenbek Toktarbai, who is a member of the editorial boards of five journals of the Engineering Science Publisher and the editor of the journal Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials.

In his speech, Professor Zh.Toktarbai spoke in detail about the mechanisms for including scientific journals in international indexed databases such as Scopus, as well as ways to improve the quality of scientific publications and the requirements for international publications. He explained the structure of journals indexed in Scopus, ethical standards and the review process, backing up his words with concrete examples from many years of practice.

It is worth noting that four scientific journals are currently indexed in the Scopus database at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: International Journal of Mathematics and Physics, Physical Sciences and Technology, "Bulletin of KazNU. Mathematics, Mechanics, Computer Science series", as well as recently included in the database of the International Journal of Biology and Chemistry.

In the future, together with Zheksenbek Toktarbai, active work is planned to promote KazNU scientific journals in the Scopus database.

The seminar also discussed topics related to the preparation of high-quality scientific articles and compliance with international standards by authors and editors. Young scientists had the opportunity to ask interesting questions and exchange experiences.

Such seminars certainly contribute to the development of science, enhance the authority of scientific journals and integration into the international information space.
