Online lecture for masters and PhD students of Osh State University (Osh State University, Kyrgyz Republic) on the topic: "Almaty as an environmental phenomenon: challenges of sustainable development of a large metropolis"
On April 14, 2025, an online lecture on "Almaty as an ecological phenomenon: challenges to the sustainable development of a large metropolis" was held for masters and doctoral students in the fields of Geography and Tourism at Osh State University.
The lecture was delivered by Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Bazarbayeva Tursynkul Amankeldievna, Head of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of the Al—Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the lecture, the features of the modern development of Almaty were highlighted, the key environmental and urban challenges facing the metropolis were identified, and the experience that could be useful for the sustainable development of other cities in Central Asia was presented.
After the presentation, the participants received comprehensive answers to their questions, which contributed to strengthening academic dialogue and professional growth of OSH State University masters and doctoral students. This lecture was held within the framework of academic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
