t the international scientific-practical conference of students and young scholars “Farabi Alemi”, held on April 4, 2025, Moldir Yesimbek, a 2nd-year student majoring in Oriental Studies at the Department of Chinese Studies, won first place in the section “History and Culture of Eastern Countries” and advanced to a final round against the winners of the four faculty sections.

The jury listened attentively to all presentations and noted the difficulty of selecting a winner due to the high quality of the research. However, Moldir’s report titled “Censorship in China: Historical Foundations and Modern Mechanisms” stood out once again and earned her the top prize in the final round as well.

On April 14, during the closing ceremony of the IV International Farabi Forum at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the results of the annual academic event were officially announced. At this major gathering, the young scholar from the Department of Chinese Studies received a First Degree Diploma and a monetary award, personally presented by the university’s rector, Zh.K. Tuimebayev.

We sincerely wish the young Orientalist continued success on her challenging yet rewarding academic journey, where every step requires diligence, curiosity, and creativity!
