The Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources hosted the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" on the section "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation".

On April 3, 2025, the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" was held. A total of 112 theses were accepted in the section "Current problems of biology and biodiversity conservation", including:

– Women's State Pedagogical University

– M.Otemisov West Kazakhstan University

– Alikhan Bokeikhan University

 – Karaganda University named after Boketova

– Agricultural Engineering Research University named after S. Seifullin

- Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov

– South Kazakhstan University named after M.Auezov

– Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai,

– M.H. Taraz University named after Dulati

–  St. Petersburg State University

   26 reports were heard at the meeting "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation". Among them: 1 report – Astana International University, 1 report – Women's State Pedagogical University, 24 reports – Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

   The event was opened by Meruert Sakenovna Kurmanbayeva, Chairman of the Commission, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, wishing the participants good luck and success.

A commission consisting of the following members was formed to evaluate the work of the participants:

   Following the results of the competition, the following were awarded:

   The diploma for first place in the section "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation" for presentation to the diploma the vice-rector is Anatoly Rayymbek Kairatuly, a 1st-year doctoral student at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, on the topic "External factors affecting the genus Populus L. In the floodplain of the Zhaiyk river", scientific supervisor, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor Kurmanbaeva M. S.

Diploma for second place in the section "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation" for presentation to the diploma of the vice-rector - 1st-year master's student Ruslan Nurkhanov and 2nd-year student Zhanbasbayeva Symbat, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the topic of the report: "Taxonomic structure of the flora of vascular plants of the Semipelatinsk Floristic district of Kazakhstan". Scientific supervisor: Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor Akhtaeva N. Z.

The diploma for second place in the section "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation" for presentation to the diploma of the vice-rector is Diana Kozhakhmetova, a 2nd-year graduate student at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, on the topic "Assessment of chlorpyrifos-induced toxicity on embryonic development and histological alterations in Danio rerio". Scientific supervisor: Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor T. Shalakhmetova.

    Diploma for third place in the section "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation" for presentation to the diploma of Vice-rector Alina Kushenova from the Women's State Pedagogical University, on the topic "Arboreal Hemiptera (Hemiptera, Heteroptera) of Almaty". Scientific supervisor: Doctor of Biological Sciences, Acting Assoc.Professor Aitzhanova M.A.

Diploma for third place in the section "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation" for presentation to the diploma of the vice-rector - Toktagazine Nuray, a 3rd-year student of Astana International University, the topic of the report: "Study of populations of rare medicinal plant species of the genus Adonis L. across Kazakhstan". Scientific supervisor: Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Zhumagul M. Zh.

    Diploma for the third place in the section "Actual problems of biology and biodiversity conservation" for presentation to the diploma of the vice-rector - 1st-year master's student Demid Baymukhambetov and 2nd-year doctoral student Islam Galymzhanov, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The report's title is "Studying the biodiversity of bees (Hymenoptera, xanthophyll) in Kazakhstan using the iNaturalist platform." Scientific supervisor: Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor S.T. Nurtazin.

     All participants of the conference received certificates of participants.
