Professor K.K. Duskaev's Report Meeting on Scientific Internship in Germany

On April 16, 2025, a report meeting was held at the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences, dedicated to the results of Professor Kasym Koyanbaevich Duskaev’s scientific internship.

During the meeting, Professor Duskaev presented the outcomes of his internship at Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg (Germany), which took place from February 24 to March 14, 2025. The main focus of his presentation was participation in the development of an educational module on integrated water resources management in Central Asia.

It was specifically noted that the internship contributed to improving the international ranking of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Participation in the international regional project "Climate-Sensitive Water Resources Management in Central Asia," contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Kazakhstan, as well as the preparation and publication of an educational module on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in collaboration with leading scientists and experts from the European Union and Central Asian countries – all of this enhances international cooperation and strengthens the capacity of regional basin water management organizations.

The event was attended by faculty members, doctoral students, master’s students, and undergraduates of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology. The audience expressed great interest in the presented experience, noting its relevance to the academic and research activities of the department and to the professional development of the teaching staff.

At the end of the meeting, participants discussed potential directions for further international collaboration, as well as the integration of acquired knowledge into the educational process and scientific research at the university.
