The Creative Legacy of Ybyray Altynsarin

On April 18, 2025, within the framework of the SDG 4:  “Quality Education,” a demonstration lecture  on yhe topic: "Ybyray Altynsarin is  Enlightener and Educator” and a seminar on the topic:  "The Creative Legacy of Ybyray Altynsarin” were enthusiastically held as a  part of the «Kazakh Literature of the 19th Century» course at the university.
The event was organized by the  first-year master's  degree student of the “7M02309 – Literary Studies” major, U.O. Akhan, under the guidance of senior lecturers of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University  PhD in Philology S.D. Daribayev, Doctor of Philology G.Zh. Bolatova, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management, PhD in Pedagogy B.I. Imanbekova, and Acting Professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, PhD in Psychology N.S. Zhubanazarova.
The lecture and  the seminar not only increased  the students’ interest in the subject but also offered a great opportunity to deeply explore the educational legacy of Ybyray Altynsarin. During the open lecture, the instructor skillfully blended traditional teaching methods with modern educational technologies, using multimedia materials and interactive tasks to present fresh and meaningful content.
In the seminar,  the students effectively used platforms such as Padlet for group work, presentations, and literary analysis of Altynsarin’s works. The dialogue between teacher and students, open exchange of ideas, and focus on creative thinking made the seminar especially engaging.
By the end of the session, students connected Altynsarin’s contributions to the future of the nation with contemporary issues, proving the relevance of his ideas today. Their active participation, responsibility, and creative efforts were clear indicators of quality education.
The demonstration  lecture and seminar were productive steps toward mastering national literary heritage in a modern format and aligned with the goals of the SDGs-4 initiative.
