Organization of the SDG Roundtable and awarding of scholarship to international students

As part of the project "Sustainable Development Goals in the Republic of Kazakhstan", the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi KazNU held a Roundtable on April 17 on the topic "The Role of Youth in Achieving the 17 SDGs: Kazakhstan - China - Nigeria - Afghanistan - Uzbekistan". The Roundtable was attended by HSEB staff, Master students and students.

In their reports, Master students and students covered almost all 17 SDGs: Global Fight Against Poverty: Experience of Foreign Countries (SDG 1), Improving the Quality of Education: Main Trends (SDG 4), Climate Change on Earth (SDG 13), Clean Water and Sanitation: Why is it Important? (SDG 6), Increasing Global Resource Efficiency (SDG 8), Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by Nigeria (SDGs 1-17).

The HSEB administration, with the support of the staff of the Departments of “Economics”, “Management”, and “Finance and Accounting”, awarded scholarships to foreign students to motivate them to study and conduct scientific research.

Young people are a strategically important resource for the long-term innovative development of the state. Possessing high flexibility and receptivity to innovations, young people actively respond to changes in society and offer their own solutions to pressing social problems. This social group occupies a significant place in the structure of civil society, and its worldview and value system largely determine the direction of the country's future development.
