On April 22, 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, participated in the roundtable titled “Nuclear and Radiation Safety: Education, Science and Innovation”, organized by the Institute of Nuclear Physics under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event gathered leading scientists, university representatives, research centers, and international organizations. In her address, the Dean emphasized the importance of training qualified specialists for the nuclear sector and developing research infrastructure based at the Faculty of Physics and Technology at KazNU.

The professor highlighted the faculty's active development of academic programs in nuclear physics, radiation safety, materials science, plasma physics, and accelerator technology — including within master’s and doctoral programs. Particular attention is paid to developing students' practical competencies and integrating research into the educational process.

It was also noted that KazNU, in cooperation with partner research institutes, is implementing projects aimed at addressing pressing issues in environmentally safe nuclear technologies and sustainable energy development.

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education: ensuring access to modern engineering and scientific education in nuclear and radiation safety;
  • SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: developing research and educational infrastructure in key high-tech sectors.

The participation of KazNU’s Faculty of Physics and Technology in such dialogue platforms strengthens its position as a center of excellence in applied physics and sustainable energy solutions, and fosters the expansion of international scientific cooperation.
