“Әз-Наурыз” – A Symbol of Innovation!

In the spring of 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a large-scale festive event dedicated to the Great Day – the Nowruz holiday. The event featured national food fairs, folk art exhibitions, traditional games, and cultural programs, which became an important platform for promoting values aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 Quality Education: The cultural events at the university contributed to expanding students’ ethnocultural awareness. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: The holiday fostered the rapprochement of peoples and promoted the values of peace and harmony. Partnerships for the Goals: Various university faculties, as well as international students, actively participated in the events, strengthening intercultural dialogue and social cooperation.  Reduced Inequality: All participants, regardless of age, ethnicity, or social status, shared common values, which contributed to the formation of an inclusive society.

Nowruz is not only the beginning of the new year but also a celebration of spiritual renewal and generational continuity, serving as a vivid example of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level.
