INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAD MOVEMENT - A TOOL FOR THE CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE SPECIALISTS

On April 16, 2025, the qualifying round of the XIII season of the International Engineering Championship "CASE-IN" for solving engineering cases for students and young specialists of the fuel and energy and mineral resource complexes, nuclear industry and related industries was held at the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

The initiator and organizer of the selection round was the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. The selection round of the student league of the XIII International Engineering Championship CASE-IN was held in a combined format (online and offline), with the participation of representatives of the country of the championship organizer and representatives of the universities participating in the selection round.

The championship was attended by 47 students and postgraduates from Karaganda University named after Buketov, Toraighyrov University, Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov, KazNU named after Al-Farabi, West Kazakhstan Technical University named after Zhangir Khan, South Kazakhstan University named after Auezov and Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after Safi Utebayev. 12 teams presented their case assignments.

In accordance with the criteria for evaluating case assignments, the teams that scored the highest number of points were determined: 1st place - team “Hydrocarbon Alliance”, Karaganda University named after Buketova, Akanova Zeynep Baurzhanovna, Zhusupov Iskander Nazymbekovich, Mayevsky Sergey Viktorovich; 2nd place team “Golden Oil”, Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov, Amangali Aisan Ardakkyzy, Samal Dias Talgatuly, Kairat Alem, Abdulla Zhanat Muhammetkyzy; 3rd place team “PetroTech”, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Nurym Bekzat Dosymuly, Matkir Zhanabai Mukhanuly, Amanzholov Aldiyar, Ersaynova Dana Maratkyzy.

The first place winners will present their project in the final of the XIII International Engineering Championship CASE-IN.

All teams presented interesting technological solutions, demonstrated the ability to search for and use information necessary for the effective completion of the task, showed a professional approach to solving the problem, the ability to analyze and evaluate information using information and communication technologies, make decisions in standard and non-standard situations.
