KazNU students are the best at the Olympiad in Russia

Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University entered the top three at the International All-Russian Student Olympiad in Applied Mechanics, which was held in Russia.

The Olympiad, organized at the Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University, brought together 27 teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan. In total, more than 120 participants took part in the event, including 94 students and 26 mentors.

Two teams of students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University won second and third places, respectively. All participants study at the Department of Mechanics of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at KazNU. The team that won second place included Renat Yerlanov, Nurzhaugan Tlektes, Ramazan Nalibek, and Miras Muratov. The third-place team consisted of Akhan Batenov, Denis Bessonny, and Oleg Kirillov. Both teams were coached by Birlik Sagytzhanov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Mechanics.

The participants demonstrated not only deep knowledge in the field of applied mechanics, but also a creative approach to engineering tasks.

Alexey Borovkov, Vice-rector of St. Petersburg State University, head of the Advanced Engineering School, congratulated the winners and presented them with special prizes.
