Meeting of Law Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with Representatives of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department of the Almaty City Police Department

On April 30, 2025, at 12:00 PM, in room 401, a meeting was held for students of the Faculty of Law with officers from the Cybercrime Counteraction Department of the Almaty City Police Department — Sarsembek Azamat Bagdatuly and Rasyilkhan Batyrkhan Aidarkhanuly.
The purpose of the event was to familiarize future lawyers with current threats in the field of information security and cybercrime, as well as with the practical aspects of law enforcement activities in this area.

Sarsembek Azamat Bagdatuly provided a detailed overview of the most common types of cybercrime, such as phishing, social media fraud, account hacking, and the spread of malicious software. Special attention was paid to methods of protecting personal data, improving digital literacy, and the legal framework for combating such crimes in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, students actively asked questions, showed interest in the investigation procedures of cybercrimes, and inquired about opportunities for internships or practical training in specialized police departments.
Such events contribute to the enhancement of legal culture, broaden students’ perspectives, and motivate them towards professional development in the modern digital environment.
