
The scientific week "Science, Care and Professionalism: a look into the future", dedicated to the International Day of the Nurse, has started at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The week began with a training seminar "Global Health Course", which was attended by healthcare and public health specialists, including members of the National Scientific Center for Health Development. Salidat Kairbekova, Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases, representatives of the faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Astana Medical University, South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, undergraduates of the educational program "Nursing" of a foreign group from China and others.
At the opening of the event, the participants were greeted by the Director of the Center for Life Sciences, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Marlen Yesirkepov. He stressed the importance of international cooperation for the development of science. "Progress does not stand still, with the development of technology, both research methodologies and biostatistics have advanced. Artificial intelligence is being actively introduced into the field of evidence–based medicine and healthcare today", - said the professor. – The purpose of today's seminar is to strengthen international cooperation and exchange knowledge, achievements, and advanced technologies in the field of healthcare. I wish the participants fruitful and creative work".
The seminar will last four days, during which participants will have the opportunity to listen to the "Global Health Course", valuable knowledge and skills from well-known foreign scientists, lecturers from Norway, the University of Tromsø (The Arctic University of Norway), Professor of Global Health and Epidemiology Erik Anda, MD, Hygienist, former President of EuroNet MRPH David Peyre Costa, Digital Partner at HelPed, Head of the UiT Artificial Intelligence team Marko Lukic, Associate professor, research group leader for Systems Epidemiology, Department of Community Medicine and Head of the Research Group of Systemic Epidemiology, Kristin Benjaminsen Borch.
The scientific week program also includes the international conference "Global Mission of Mercy: Nursing in a Changing World", where leading experts in the field of global health, scientists, and experts from around the world will make presentations.
The event was organized by the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Higher School of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, UiT the Arctic University of Norway, and the State Unitary Enterprise for Nursing of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
