А round table discussion on the topic: "Life that Became a Memory"

On April 17, 2025, within the framework of SDG 4 "Quality Education", at the Faculty of Philology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory held a round table discussion  on the topic:  "Life that became a memory", devoted to the memory of the outstanding literary critic, Doctor  of Philological Sciences, Full Professor Temirkhan Sakaevich Tebegenov.

The purpose of the Round table was to examine the legacy of a prominent representative of Domestic literary studies, Professor Temirkhan Sakaevich Tebegenov in the system of cultural and moral values, to determine his role in the field of education and science, in the upbringing of the younger generation. This event was educational in nature. During the round table, the contribution of the scientist to the development of Kazakhstan’s philology was analyzed. The poetic work of T.S. Tebegenov was evaluated.

At the beginning of the event, the head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, Higher Doctorate of Philological Sciences, Full Professor Alua Berikbaykyzy Temirbolat spoke. In her report, she emphasized the importance of T.S. Tebegenov's scientific heritage, his role in the development of national literary studies. A.B. Temirbolat noted T.S. Tebegenov's contribution to the study of the history of Kazakh and world literature.

The moderator of the event was  Doctor of Philological Sciences, Full Professor Omirkhan Abdimanuly. In his report, he revealed the main aspects of Temirkhan Makarevich's research, touching upon such important topics as the fate of the nation, the relationship between literature and spirituality.

His colleagues,  Doctors of Philological Sciences, Full Professors Zufar Nursapovich Seitzhanov, Zhangara Dadebayevich Dadebayev, Zinol-Gabden Kabiuly Bisengali, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sabit Imangaliyev, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Bauyrzhan Sabitovich Imangaliyev, Candidate of Philological Sciences Sovetkhan Bayanovich Tleubaev, Candidate of Philological Sciences Yerkhan Karbozovich Karbozov, senior lecturer Shokan Amangeldiuly Shortanbai shared the  memoirs about Professor T.S. Tebegenov. They warmly and reverently recalled the moral qualities of the famous scientist, his achievements and innovations in the field of science and education.

During the round table discussion,  the 2nd year students of the Philological Faculty  Zhenis Nurayim, Daniyar Maral, Symbat Zhuamurat, Aiman Zhalgasova, Aizat Ibzharova and Saulet Zhilkaidar  read excerpts from the poetic works of Professor Temirkhan Sakaevich. Gulnaz Askarova, the  1st-year undergraduate student, produced  an unforgettable  impression when she performed "Terme Makhambet".

The event  culminated with a speech by the daughters of the scientist, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of Academy of High Technologies Altynarai Temirkhanovna Tebegenova and Master of Sciences, senior lecturer of Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism, Elvira Temirkhanovna Tebegenova, who spoke about the life principles and the spiritual world of their father.

PhD  students Ayazhan Toybazar and Alma Kenzhekozhayeva took an active part in the round table.

The scientific legacy of Temirkhan Makarevich Tebegenov, who left a vivid mark on domestic literary studies, is important not only for science, but also for the formation of national consciousness and the development of the art of speech.

The video slide shown during the event, performances by teachers and students helped to better understand the scientist's life and creative path, the importance of continuity of generations and traditions. Such meetings certainly contribute to the deepening of theoretical knowledge among young and novice scientists and inspire them to new scientific research.
