Republican Student Olympiad in Psychology

On April 25, 2025, the Republican Subject Olympiad in the field of “Psychology” was held. Based on the preliminary stage, a team of 3rd-year students from KazNU was selected to participate at the national level.
The national stage of the Olympiad took place at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana, with around 10 teams from various regions and universities of Kazakhstan participating.
The team from Al-Farabi KazNU included 3rd-year students Akerke Zhenis, Kamila Tashayeva, and Aigerim Toleubay. The scientific supervisors were Deputy Head of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Acting Professor Z.M. Sadvakassova, and Senior Lecturer Sh.A. Sultanalieva.
The Republican-level Olympiad included three rounds:

Testing on the subjects: “Introduction to the Profession,” “General Psychology,” “Social Psychology,” “Developmental Psychology,” “Differential Psychology,” and “History of Psychology”;

Case study – analysis of a situation, with teams submitting written responses;

Oral debates.
Kamila Tashayeva, a 3rd-year student of the educational program 6B03107 – “Psychology” at Al-Farabi KazNU, won 3rd place. The event contributes to the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 – “Quality Education.”
