An event dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day

On May 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., an event dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day was held in room 414, organized by 1st-year students of the specialty "Biotechnology" under the guidance of the curator, Professor of the Department of Biotechnology Atabayeva S.D.

The purpose of the event: Formation of students' sense of patriotism, civic responsibility and respect for the history and heroism of the defenders of the Fatherland, as well as familiarization with the history of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the significance of Defenders of the Fatherland Day in modern society.

The students prepared a presentation. The students told about the history of the May 7 holiday. The holiday was established on May 7, 1992 by decree on the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This date has been recognized as an official state holiday since 2012. The symbolic significance of the date is in the continuity of military prowess, sovereignty and national security. The students talked about the role and importance of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, their main tasks and the structure of the Armed Forces. The students also highlighted modern achievements and participation in international peacekeeping missions, the importance of the army in ensuring the security and stability of the state.  The students also talked about historical figures and heroes of independent Kazakhstan, gave examples of heroism of soldiers, officers, and veterans. They noted the role of military-patriotic education in educational institutions. They emphasized the role of youth in preserving historical memory and developing civic responsibility, and called for respect for the defenders of the Motherland and the preservation of national values.
