Sergey Khristolyubov, Regional Director for Customer Partnerships in the EEU and Global Government of QS, visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, met with the university's management and familiarized himself with its scientific infrastructure.
Sergey Khristolyubov, thanking for the warm welcome, assured that KazNU occupies a special place in the "league" of leading universities in the region. The university has many developments, best practices and unique practices that other universities around the world would be happy to introduce. "We are collecting the best experience from universities such as KazNU so that other universities in Central Asia and abroad can learn about your achievements in the field of sustainable development, graduate employment and other technologies", Sergey Khristolyubov emphasized. "On the eve of the release of the new 2026 rating, at this meeting I propose to talk about what the university has achieved in the last rating cycle of 2025"
The speaker further noted that due to the appearance of new three indicators of the QS rating – graduate achievements, the index of international scientific collaborations and the Sustainable Development Goals – KazNU has learned how to work successfully with them. The undisputed achievement of last year is the 163rd place in the rating. The university ranks 146th in terms of academic reputation, 77th in terms of reputation among employers, that is, it is among the Top 100 best universities in the world. Thus, the university's reputation outstrips its overall position. "Among the achievements, we can also note the 33rd place in terms of the ratio of the number of teachers and students. In addition, KazNU has been among the Top 30 best universities in Asia for two years in a row. The contribution of each of you is behind this work",- Khristolyubov noted.
The guest of honor devoted the next part of his speech to the review and analysis of subject ratings, focusing on those areas where the university has great potential and the opportunity to improve its performance in the future.
