The presentation of the book "Workshop on writing academic texts" took place at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This book was prepared and published by the Kazakhstan Institute of Social Development with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to Nurbek Seilkhanuly Matzhani, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kazakhstan Institute of Social Development and Chairman of the Board, until today there have been no significant works in Kazakh and Russian devoted to writing academic texts that could be used by teachers, scientists and researchers. In addition, 80-90% of textbooks and books in this field are written in English. Therefore, the authors relied on them and took them as the basis of their work.

One of the four authors of the book, editor Nazgul Kozhabek, the compiler of the content of Kalkasyz kazak tili, noted that the structure and style of writing academic texts have not yet been systematized. "This work is an auxiliary tool for students and young scientists studying in our country. The book explains how to structure and format text when writing a paper. All this is illustrated by a variety of cases. There are samples and assignments in each chapter. This is done to make the book easier to read", - she shared her opinion.

The book "Workshop on writing academic texts" is intended to improve the writing skills of readers. It discusses the basic principles of writing texts, a deep understanding of the topic, conducting discussions, as well as topics related to literary requirements and academic style features. At the end of the book there is a list of useful sources for additional education of the reader.

This work will replenish the funds of university libraries and research centers in the future.
