KazNU hosts the II International scientific and methodological conference "Amanzholov Readings – 2025", dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Turkologist, Doctor of Philology, Professor Altay Amanzholov.

The purpose of the conference is to draw attention to the issues of preservation and study of manuscripts and old printed books, their reading and analysis, as well as to discuss topical issues of the development of Turkological science. Special attention is paid to the problems of historiography of science, the study of the heritage of scientists and, first of all, the works of Professor A.S.Amanzholov.

The event was opened by Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Board, Acting Vice Rector for Science and Innovation. In his speech, he noted the importance of understanding the processes of formation of the Turkic languages, their connection with historical changes, as well as the consequences of language reforms for modern society. He also emphasized the scientific and educational contribution of A.S.Amanzholov to the study of the Turkic historical and linguistic heritage.

"An outstanding Kazakhstani Turkologist, specialist in the historical grammar of the Turkic languages, the history of ancient Turkic writing, Doctor of Philology, Professor A.S.Amanzholov, has left the brightest mark in this field. And today his legacy remains relevant, it serves as a launching pad for new research by young adherents of science. New researchers are following in A.S.Amanzholov's footsteps, relying on the wealth of knowledge gleaned from the scientific works of the scientist", - said the acting vice–rector.

The Vice-President of the International Turkic Academy Askhat Kesikbayev, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Uzbek State University of World Languages Dusmamat Kulmamatov (Uzbekistan, Tashkent), Doctor of Philology, Professor, Executive Director of the Research Institute of Turkology and Altaic Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Nursultan Shaimerdenov, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Foreign Philology also made presentations. Eleonora Suleimenova, Director of the Farabi Library, Zhadira Arekenova, and others studied translation at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The presentation of the book "Amanzholov Readings – 2025" took place within the framework of the event.

The conference continued in the format of breakout sessions, where participants discussed topical issues of Turkology and library science.
