The Centralized Library System of Almaty city and the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have joined forces in the field of library science and education.

Today in Almaty, a significant event took place, opening new horizons of cooperation between the country's leading cultural institution and the flagship of higher education. The Director of the Centralized Library System of Almaty city, Bektembayev Meiram Yerkenovich, and the Dean of the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Baigunakov Dosbol Suleimenovich, signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

The solemn ceremony was attended by key figures of the city's library system: Deputy Director of the Centralized Library System of Almaty for Library Affairs, Spatayeva Lazzat Mukhtarovna, and the Head of the Zhambyl City Youth Library, Zholdasov Ayan Temirbekovich. Representing the university were the Head of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies, Myrzabekova Ryskeldі Salamatkyzy, faculty members of the department, as well as interested undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students studying in the specialty "Library Information Systems."

During the meeting, the parties fruitfully discussed a number of issues of mutual interest. This cooperation is expected to enable the implementation of joint projects in the field of library science, the organization of internships and practical training for students of the "Library Information Systems" specialty of the Faculty of History on the basis of city libraries, and the conduct of joint research and cultural and educational events.

The signing of the memorandum was an important step towards the integration of education and culture, which will contribute to improving the qualifications of future library professionals and expanding public access to historical knowledge and cultural heritage.
