Ainur Abdulganiqyzy Turgenbaу, a third-year doctoral student of the educational program "8D02209 – Oriental Studies" at the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, completed an international research internship at the World Center for Chinese Studies under Beijing Language and Culture University (PRC, cities of Beijing and Qingdao). The internship took place from April 1 to April 30, 2025, at the World Center for Chinese Studies under Beijing Language and Culture University in the cities of Beijing and Qingdao. The purpose of the internship was to conduct comprehensive academic research and to collect materials for her doctoral dissertation. During the visit, she received consultations on her dissertation topic from Professor Xu Baofeng and other researchers at the Center.

From April 1 to April 7, 2025, she met with Professor Xu Baofeng, Director of the World Center for Chinese Studies at Beijing Language and Culture University (PRC, Beijing), and with the Center’s staff. She became familiar with the university's academic facilities and the internal operations of the Center, and studied a number of academic works related to her dissertation topic in the university library.

Starting from April 7 in Qingdao, at the branch of the World Center for Chinese Studies, she received additional consultations on an article being prepared for publication in Scopus-indexed journals. She also collected necessary materials for her dissertation and reviewed academic literature. During the internship, sources relevant to the dissertation were gathered in the university library. The structure of the dissertation was refined and approved, and work on the text was initiated based on that structure.

As a result of the international research internship at the World Center for Chinese Studies under Beijing Language and Culture University, the professional skills required for writing a doctoral dissertation were significantly enhanced. Sources were collected from the libraries of the university and the center, and additional materials were studied in the libraries and bookstores of Beijing and Qingdao, greatly enriching the bibliographic base for the dissertation.

The experience gained from meetings with leading scholars of the World Center for Chinese Studies (PRC, Beijing and Qingdao), as well as the work carried out during the internship, proved to be valuable both for the doctoral student herself and for her future successful academic career.
