Analysis of the development of national psychology

The international scientific and practical conference "Psychology in Kazakhstan and the world: experience, trend, prospects" was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The conference is dedicated to the study of the scientific heritage of a prominent scientist and psychologist of Kazakhstan, Professor Satybaldy Dzhakupov, a graduate of Lomonosov Moscow State University and dedicated to his 75th anniversary.

An exhibition of books was presented to the participants and guests and a video clip about the life and work of scientist S.M.Dzhakupov was shown. The conference is organized by the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science.

Yerkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Vice–Rector of KazNU, delivered a welcoming speech at the meeting. The speaker noted the great contribution of the scientist to the development of psychology in Kazakhstan. He is the author of more than 500 scientific papers, 40 textbooks, teaching aids and three monographs, and is actively published in leading Russian journals. In the field of educational psychology, Professor S.M.Dzhakupov has developed a conceptual model – the psychological structure of the learning process as a multilevel system. In addition to educational psychology and general psychology, the scientist contributed to the development of ethnopsychology and the early development of social psychology in Kazakhstan. Satybaldy Mukataevich Dzhakupov was a scientist with an active personal position. He was a true scientist, devoted to science and contributed to the development of Russian psychology and the psychology of the CIS countries", - said E. Duisenov.

KazNU veteran, Professor and associate of Professor S.M.Dzhakupov Zholmukhan Turkpenov, Professor of the Department of Development of Managerial Skills and Leadership Qualities of the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Batyr Kadyrov, wife of Professor S.M.Dzhakupov, Candidate of Sciences Nadezhda Dzhakupova, senior lecturer Maksat Satybaldievich Dzhakupov, Academician of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Natural Sciences, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan also delivered welcoming speeches. Kazakh Psychological Society, Professor Mukhan Perlenbetov and others. It was noted that S.M.Dzhakupov founded a scientific school of psychology in Kazakhstan. 58 PhD theses, 7 doctoral theses and 5 PhD theses were defended under his leadership.

In 2002, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University established, through the efforts of the Department of Ethnic and Pedagogical Psychology, for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan, a specialized dissertation council for the defense of doctoral theses in psychology. The first chairman of this council is Professor S.M.Dzhakupov, who has led its work for two consecutive convocations. During this period of work of the dissertation council, 3 doctoral dissertations and about 40 candidate dissertations were defended by applicants from different parts of the country.

At the request of the Chairman, a new specialty, ethnopsychology, was introduced into the nomenclature of specialties in psychological sciences. This fact was one of the most important factors in the emergence of experimental ethnopsychology in Kazakhstan and for the first time in the world. Satybaldy Dzhakupov was the founder and president of the Kazakh Association of Psychologists.

Scientists from Kazakhstan, Germany, the Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and other countries made presentations during the conference. 

After the plenary session, the work of the conference continued in four thematic sections.
