What makes us happy in front of May?

For youth, it is a wind of change, an instance of good luck, a sparkling joke, a moment of departure from formalities, as an opportunity to discuss and show yourself to be an expert and smart person. For the older generation, these are memories of wonderful times, meetings and conversations about countries and scales that you have never visited. I gratefully recalled Professor Sheila McCormick's lunches that she arranged at the Plant Gene Expression Center, Albany. Therefore, at the end of April, we organized a pizza lunch, at the same time discussing new methods of molecular biology, -omics, genome editing, and the news of systems biology. It's a big question, whether AI will bring waves of warmth, kindness and spring emotions, but it's quite obvious that we, teachers and students, are able to find ways out of routine and memorization, share successes like the KazNU Biology and Biotechnology Olympiad team that has won the first place a week earlier, and share a light meal with the birdsong heard from outside the window, as well as the stories about degradome or peptidome in the classroom. Exams, then summer field trips and internships are ahead.
