KazNU chess players took the first place

Young chess players of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took first place at the XIII Summer Universiade in Turkestan.

KazNU chess team: Bekarys Tursinaly – 1st year student of the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health, Sultan Amanzhol – 3rd year student of the Faculty of Information Technology, Shapagat Konysbay – 4th year student of the Faculty of Information Technology, Almas Shaudabay – 3rd year student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Asel Lesbekova – 1st year student of the School of Economics and Business, and Aruzhan Shauken – A 4th year student of the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health, defeated her rivals.

Asel Alimbekova took the first place in the individual competition.

The coach of the chess students is Serikbai Shyngyskhan, a teacher at the Sports Club and Healthy Lifestyle Center of KazNU.

The Summer Universiade will last until June 16. Teams from 71 universities across the country will compete for 800 medals and 104 cups.
