Students Visited the Almaty Botanical Garden as Part of Round Table Preparations

On the eve of the round table dedicated to Ecologist's Day, students visited the Almaty Botanical Garden. The visit was organized by the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development with the aim of practically studying the urban ecosystem and biodiversity.

During the excursion, students conducted field observations of the diversity of flora, the condition of green spaces, and the interaction between people and the natural environment. Special attention was paid to rare and endemic plant species, as well as to issues related to the maintenance of urban vegetation.

Participants documented their observations through photo and video materials, which were later used for discussion at the round table. The visit to the botanical garden became an important part of the students’ environmental education and allowed them to better understand the significance of green spaces in a metropolitan setting.
