Global Hackathon competitions are being held in KazNU

The national stage of the Global HackAtom international student competition has begun in the Almaty branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The intellectual competition unfolded at the Farabi Hub Center for Innovative Products and High-Tech Projects of KazNU, bringing together teams from the country's leading universities, including Astana IT University, EKTU, IITU, Satbayev University, KBTU, METU and Almaty Government Polytechnic College. The main purpose of the event is to find practical solutions in the field of nuclear technology.
The opening ceremony began with welcoming remarks by Almas Gauhar, Director of the Center for Commercialization of Technologies and Creative Industries at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Askar Davletov, Head of the Almaty branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.
Leading experts in the field of nuclear physics and technology shared their knowledge and experience with the participants. Alla Udalova, Professor of the Department of Nuclear Physics and Technology at the Obninsk Institute of Atomic Energy at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, gave an introductory lecture on nuclear infrastructure. Associate Professor of the same department, Roman Fomin, presented the basics of nuclear engineering, and Anastasia Fedosimova, Head of the Laboratory of High Energy Physics at the Institute of Physics and Technology, conducted consultations.
The speakers emphasized that the participation of Kazakhstani students in international projects contributes to strengthening scientific ties and developing the competencies of young specialists in the field of nuclear technology, engineering and digital solutions. This year, students from nine countries are participating in Global HackAtom. The competition includes qualifying stages in partner countries and the grand final, which will be held in September in Moscow as part of World Atomic Week (WAW). It is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry.
During the intensive course, participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures, work on cases, ask questions to experts and get advice from moderators. The second day is dedicated to teamwork on projects and their protection. The teams of the "Connectivity Component" (Almaty branch of MEPhI), "Nuclear Quintet" (Almaty branch of MEPhI), "CyberAtom" (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University), "MCSquad" (Astana IT University), "Atomic Heart" (VKTU), "Spark Studio" (IITU) will present their developments, "KazSaq" (Almaty State Polytechnic College), "Nuclear scientists" (Satbayev University), "Omega 4" (KBTU+IITU), "Maine coon" (METU), "Hack'n'roll" (Amjilt) and "Non-Artificial Intelligences" (KBTU).
