KazNU opens conference hall named after Academician Edilkhan Amirgaliev
The first forum on the topic "Intelligence of the future: artificial intelligence and robotics in applied science and education" was held at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Within the framework of the event, a conference hall named after the scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Edilkhan Amirgaliyev, was inaugurated.
The Forum was opened by Erkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Vice–Rector of KazNU. The event was attended by Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice-President of the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan Amandyk Tuleshov, Director General of the Institute of Information and Computing Technologies Maktagali Bektemesov, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rustam Musabayev, as well as colleagues, students and relatives of the scientist. Recalling his activities, the participants emphasized his scientific legacy and invaluable contribution to the formation of the Kazakh scientific school of intelligent information technologies.
The participants noted that Edilkhan Amirgaliyev was a prominent representative of the Russian scientific school in the fields of applied mathematics, intelligent information technologies, mathematical modeling and image recognition systems. Over more than forty years of professional activity, the professor has successfully combined scientific, pedagogical and organizational work, becoming a mentor for many young scientists. He has published over 500 scientific papers, including 11 monographs, 8 patents, textbooks and teaching aids. The professor has been awarded numerous industry awards and titles.
In honor of the opening of the auditorium, Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki, Rector of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University, Kanat Kozhakhmet, President of Narkhoz University, Honorary member of the Board of Rectors of K.I. Satpayev National Research Technical University, Professor, Lieutenant General Adil Shayakhmetov, sent their congratulations.
The new modernly equipped conference hall named after Academician of the Republic of Kazakhstan Edilkhan Amirgaliyev will become a venue for scientific forums, seminars, lectures and other events aimed at the development of information technology and interdisciplinary cooperation.
The forum also featured thematic presentations and discussions on the use of artificial intelligence in robotics, as well as innovative solutions in science and education.
