Kazakh-Kyrgyz Cooperation: Al-Farabi KazNU Professor Participated in an International Conference

On June 12, 2025, an international scientific-practical conference titled "Kazakh-Kyrgyz Relations: Historical Lessons and the Present Day" was held in Bishkek. As part of the Kazakhstani delegation, Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Director of the Center for the Study of Contemporary China, Nabyzhan Mukhametkhanuly, delivered a report on "Kazakh-Kyrgyz Relations in the 18th Century" and received high praise from his colleagues.
The conference was organized by the Commission on Historical Sciences under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, and the Association of Historians of Kazakhstan. During the event, scholars from both countries exchanged views and emphasized the importance of evaluating historical events within their respective historical contexts. They highlighted the deep-rooted historical ties between the Kazakh and Kyrgyz peoples and stressed the need to further strengthen friendly and cooperative relations.
This conference not only enhanced academic dialogue but also served as a vivid example of deepening scientific and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
