KazNU to strengthen partnership with China in the engineering field

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, took part in the opening ceremony of the II scientific and technological conference on the exchange of views "Belt and Road". He also spoke at the "Belt and Road" Engineering Capacity–building forum.

The international event was attended by member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, State Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, Party Committee Secretary of Sichuan Province Wang Xiaohui, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Arf, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Achilbai Ramatov and other high-ranking foreign guests - about 6,000 people out of more than 100 states.

Issues related to the training of qualified personnel in the engineering field, the creation of a joint research platform, cross-border exchange of experience and the development of standards for engineering education were discussed at the meeting.

Following the results of the forum, representatives of higher education institutions, scientific institutions and international organizations signed a joint consensus on reaching mutual understanding on the development of engineering potential "One Belt– One Road". It provides for the development of international cooperation in the field of engineering education, the implementation of joint projects, support for young scientists and the creation of open platforms for the exchange of knowledge and technology.
