KazNU has opened a joint business incubator with Tus-Holdings Co.
The Farabi HUB Innovation Development Center hosted the grand opening of the TusPark Business Incubator Co., created on the basis of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event was attended by members of the delegation of Tus-Holdings Co. (PRC), representatives of the leadership of KazNU, scientists and university professors.
The event started with a visit by the participants of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University exhibition, which presents promising startup projects and the work of the winners of the student business incubator competition. The guests of honor were shown the documentary film "FARABI UNIVERSITY – 90" about the achievements, scientific, educational and innovative projects of the country's leading university.
Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev congratulated the participants on a significant event - the opening of a joint business incubator of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and TusPark Business Incubator Co., Ltd. He noted that the large-scale project is being implemented as part of the message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym–Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan: "We need not declarative, but effective measures to support private initiatives to create innovative infrastructure - business incubators, commercialization centers, technology parks and design bureaus".
"The joint incubator is a modern infrastructure and organizational platform integrated into the innovation ecosystem. Its activities will focus on the support and development of startups, with a focus on DeepTech, digital, biotechnological, biomedical and green technologies. The incubator will use the best international experience in the transformation of scientific developments into business solutions, contributing to the entry of innovative projects into global markets",- said the rector.
Jinsheng Zhang, Executive President of Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd., also spoke at the event, noting that the new, joint project is designed to become an effective platform for technology transfer, commercialization of scientific developments and building sustainable business models. This is a new page in the development of TusHoldings Co., Ltd., a platform for providing comprehensive innovation and investment services, which is a strategic division of Tsinghua University (PRC).
"TusHoldings adheres to the mission: to transform scientific and technological achievements, incubate startups and develop innovative talents", - Jinsheng Zhang emphasized.
After the official opening ceremony of the business incubator, the honored guests got acquainted with TusPark Business Incubator Co, the Kazakh-Chinese joint laboratory "Remote Sensing Technology and their Applications" and a supercomputer cluster.
