Online Meeting with Bar-Ilan University Vice-Rector: Steps Towards Launching Joint Master's and PhD Programs under SDG 4 and SDG 17
In June 2025, an online meeting took place on the Zoom platform between representatives of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Professor Zeev Zalevsky, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Bar-Ilan University (Israel).
The following representatives from KazNU participated in the meeting:

Director of the Department of International Cooperation of KazNU,

Representatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology,
-
Faculty of Information Technologies,
-
Faculty of Geography,
-
Faculty of Physics and Technology.
The meeting aimed to discuss the prospects for launching joint Master's and PhD programs between KazNU and Bar-Ilan University. Professor Zalevsky expressed strong interest from the Israeli side in deepening the partnership and proposed to explore in detail key academic aspects, including:

mechanisms for academic mobility,
-
synchronization of curricula,
-
funding opportunities.
Particular attention was paid to the development of dual-degree tracks in areas such as chemical technology, sustainable energy solutions, and digital technologies.
This meeting is part of KazNU’s efforts to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 4 – Quality Education: through the expansion of international academic programs and capacity-building for students and faculty;
-
SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: by fostering transnational academic and research alliances.
