Successful PhD Dissertation Defense by Elmira  Montanay at the  Department of Turkish Studies and History of Eastern Countries

On June 30, 2025, the Department of  Turkish Studies and History of Eastern Countries hosted the successful defense of the doctoral dissertation by Elmira  Montanay, a PhD candidate in the educational program 8D02209 – Oriental Studies.

The dissertation, titled “Linguocultural Components in the Formation of National Clothing Discourse of Kazakh and Turkish Ethnic Groups”, was evaluated by the dissertation council under the chairmanship of Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor Mirzahan  Egamberdiev. The council highly appreciated the relevance, scientific novelty, and significance of the research.

Scientific supervisors, Akhmetbekova Akbota Karibaevna, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Near and South Asia (domestic scientific supervisor), Adem Koc Professor at Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Turkey (foreign scientific supervisor).

Official Reviewers: Kalamkas Seidullayevna Kalibayeva – Doctor of Philology, Professor at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

Bolat Kudaybergenovich Smagulov – Chief Researcher at the R.B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Associate Professor.

Based on the results of the voting, the council decided to award Montanay Elmira Azimbayqyzy the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the specialty 8D02209 – Oriental Studies.
