Innovative educational programs have been opened at KazNU
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is implementing 562 educational programs this year. Among them are 149 bachelor's degree programs, 285 master's degree programs and 128 doctoral programs.
The educational programs of the leading multidisciplinary university are adapted to modern global challenges, the requirements of the labor market and the priorities of socio-economic development of the country. The University provides training in a wide range of fields: from basic science and applied research to humanities, engineering and technological specialties.
In particular, KazNU trains highly sought-after specialists in such fields as: information technology and artificial intelligence; engineering, energy, nuclear and uranium industries; biotechnology and applied biophysics; ecology, geology and seismology; international relations, law and public diplomacy; journalism, linguistics and philology; finance, economics, business analytics and management.
This year, KazNU, responding to the challenges of the digital age, has introduced a number of new innovative educational programs. Among them: "Artificial Intelligence", "Software Engineering", "Military Cryptology", "Biomedical Engineering", "Applied Biophysics", "IT Management", "Earthquake Geology" and other promising areas.
The University offers 60 dual degree programs implemented jointly with leading universities in Germany, Portugal, Italy, China, Russia, France and other countries. Strategic partners include the University of Wismar (Germany), the University of Lisbon (Portugal), La Sapienza University (Italy), Northwestern Polytechnic University (China), Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia) and others.
KazNU is actively expanding its global presence. To date, the university's branches are successfully operating in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. In addition, branches of MEPhI (Russia) and Northwestern Polytechnic University (China) operate on the basis of KazNU.
The University is also confidently mastering digital transformation: 127 online courses are available on the Open KazNU platform, integration with the Coursera international platform continues, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies are being introduced into the educational process.
Today, more than 27 500 students study at KazNU, including over 4 000 foreign citizens from more than 50 countries, which confirms the university's high international status.
