​​​​​​​Research Project Launched: “Environmental assessment of technogenic pollution of the Almaty city soil cover using GIS technologies”

Faculty members of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development and staff of the Soil Ecology laboratory and Environmental monitoring and Sustainable development laboratory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have launched their work within the framework of the scientific project AR26199673 titled “Ecological Assessment of Technogenic Soil Pollution in Almaty Using GIS Technologies.”

The project involves scientific researchers: T.A. Bazarbayeva, G.A. Mukanova, B.E. Shimshikov, Z.A. Tukhenova, B.Kh. Tusupova, K.T. Kyrgyzbai, and A.A. Oshakbai.

The research aims to conduct a comprehensive assessment of soil conditions in Almaty affected by anthropogenic activities. The primary goal of the project is to develop scientifically grounded recommendations for sustainable land use and environmental protection in the city.
