THE DORMITORIES ARE UNDERGOING RENOVATION WORK

The University is actively preparing for the new academic year 2025-2026. Currently, large-scale cosmetic repairs are being carried out in the buildings of the dormitories. Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev got acquainted with the progress of the work.

The head of the educational institution pays special attention to ensuring comfortable conditions for students to study and live. He personally inspects the progress of repair work, checking the quality of their performance.

In almost all dormitory buildings (from the 1st to the 18th), interior rooms and corridors are being painted and whitewashed. The facades of the first floor are also being painted, which will improve the appearance of the buildings. In addition, the linoleum in the dormitories is being partially replaced. № 1, 6, 7, 15, 16 and 18. This is especially important to ensure the hygiene and aesthetics of living spaces.

Ceramic tile flooring in bathrooms and kitchens is being replaced in dormitory №17, and partial replacement of ceramic tiles in bathrooms is planned in 13 dormitories. Such measures are aimed at improving living conditions and increasing the comfort level for students.

The upgrade also includes the replacement of plumbing and electrical equipment, which will ensure reliability and safety. As part of these works, toilets, sinks, faucets, flexible hoses, as well as lamps, vending machines, sockets and switches are being replaced. It is also planned to partially replace the door blocks in order to increase the level of security.

Completion of all works is scheduled for August 15, 2025, which will ensure that the dormitories are ready for the start of the new academic year.
