Visit of Tsinghua University Delegation to KazNU: Advancing International Cooperation and Achieving SDG 4 and SDG 17
On August 4, 2025, the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a delegation from Tsinghua University and Xizang Minzu University (PRC) as part of a social practice program.
The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Scientific-Innovative Work and International Relations, as well as academic staff from the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics. The delegation included professors, PhD students, master’s students, and undergraduates from the Department of Energy and Thermal Power Engineering, along with representatives of the School of Ecology and Environment.
The visit program included the following:

Welcome speeches from the faculty administration and visiting delegation;

Presentation of research areas of Tsinghua University;

A tour of the educational and scientific laboratories of the faculty, including laboratories of thermal physics, theoretical and nuclear physics.
Special attention during the meeting was given to sustainable development, reflected in the promotion of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 4 – Quality Education: the visit promoted academic exchange and development of research competencies among students and faculty;

SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: the meeting served as a platform to strengthen international scientific and educational cooperation.
During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities for implementing joint educational programs, scientific projects, and participation in international grant initiatives and academic mobility programs.
The Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU continues to pursue a consistent policy of expanding international cooperation and contributing to the achievement of global sustainable development goals.
