ELDAR SHEKERBEK — TOP IN OPEN WATER SWIMMING

A student of the Law Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, famous athlete Eldar Shekerbek took second place and won a silver medal at the X-WATERS KAZAKHSTAN open water swimming competition held in Burabay.

Athletes from more than 30 countries took part in the international competitions. Eldar Shekerbek proved to be among the best in the 8-kilometer race, which was attended by more than 80 people.

– I would like to continue to perform at the same high level, to glorify the Treasury where I study, to raise the flag of our country so that our anthem could be played on a pedestal, and so that we could proudly declare ourselves, — said Eldar Shekerbek.

Currently, the young athlete is preparing for an intercontinental swim through the Bosphorus Strait, which will take place on August 22, 2025, in Turkey.

Eldar Shekerbek is the champion of Kazakhstan in open water swimming at 2 km, 5 km and 10 km, the absolute champion of Asia in 5 km, the world champion in the 3*500 m relay, the winner of silver and bronze medals in the 10 km swim in the Persian Gulf, the United Arab Emirates, the European Champion in 10 km, Spain, the winner of the Universiade 2023-2024.
