IT SPECIALISTS OF CENTRAL ASIA GATHERED IN KAZNU
A large-scale regional event, AWS Community Day Central Asia 2025, is taking place on the basis of al–Farabi Kazakh National University. The forum brought together experts from AWS Heroes, Community Builders, as well as invited speakers from Canada, Germany, Spain, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
The event is attended by developers, engineers, architects, startups, students and leaders of the IT industry.
Interest in cloud technologies is growing rapidly every year and the collaboration of the Central Asian technology community is strengthening. For the first time, an event of this level is being held offline in Kazakhstan.
Margulan Ibraimov, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives.
"Today's youth are not just technology users, but their creators. Events such as AWS Community Day are becoming platforms where students, developers and specialists exchange ideas, are inspired by experiences and are already shaping the future of the digital economy of Kazakhstan and the entire region",- said KazNU Vice Rector.
The event was organized by the leaders of AWS communities from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan - the official representatives of AWS User Groups. The participants discussed real-world cases of building cloud solutions, the challenges of digital transformation, and current practices in DevOps, machine learning, automation, and cybersecurity.
Special attention was drawn to interactive sessions analyzing the architectures of real projects, frank discussions of mistakes, as well as practical workshops where participants could apply their knowledge in practice.
The culmination of the program was AWS GameDay, a team competition in which participants solved engineering problems close to real business scenarios. This is not just a competition, but dynamic learning through practice and teamwork.
Throughout the entire period of the competition, participants actively shared their experiences, received advice from practitioners, received advice from practitioners and professional advice. The event has become not only an educational platform, but also a place where new collaborations, business ideas and technological partnerships are formed. AWS Community Day Central Asia is supported by international and local IT companies, educational institutions, and technical communities.
