THE US CONGRESS HIGHLY APPRECIATED THE CAPABILITIES OF KAZNU

A delegation of staff from the U.S. House of Representatives (STAFFDEL) has arrived at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on an official visit.

During the visit, an introductory tour of the university campus was organized for the guests. The delegation got acquainted with the scientific and innovative potential of KazNU, including the activities of the Farabi Hub innovation center, leading research structures, as well as the capabilities of the Farabi Supercomputer supercomputer center. The modern infrastructure and high-tech laboratories of the university aroused great interest among the guests.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazNU, First Vice–Rector Erkin Duisenov warmly welcomed the delegation, noting that the university builds stable and systematic partnerships with foreign universities and scientific organizations. He also spoke about KazNU's scientific and innovative achievements and its active participation in international projects.

The delegation included Matt Hutson– Chief of Staff to Congressman Andy Harris, Jesse Von Stein, Deputy Chief of Staff to Congressman Corey Mills, Semaj Martin–Redd, Director of Legislative Affairs for Congressman Trent Kelly, Ariel Dorsey– Senior Staff Member of the House Budget and Taxes Subcommittee, Alec Daman– Senior Legislative Adviser to Congressman Bill Haizenga, Anna McDonald – Senior Legislative Adviser to Congresswoman Anna Kamlager-Dove.

The delegation met with KazNU student activists. During the discussion, issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, youth policy, new directions in education and international academic mobility were touched upon.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Alina Galeeva spoke about the education system at KazNU and stressed that thanks to dual degree programs, university graduates become highly sought-after and competitive specialists in the global labor market.

The members of the delegation from the USA thanked the KazNU staff for the informative program of the visit, and highly appreciated the scientific and innovative base of the university.
