The Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University welcomed a delegation from the Republic of Korea.

Professor Meruert Sakenovna Kurmanbayeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, welcomed official guests from the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum regarding the molecular diagnostics laboratory and discussed new avenues for scientific cooperation and future opportunities.

Changsik Hong, Managing Director for Laboratory Services at OPEN Healthcare, Inc., took part in the meeting. He emphasized the company’s readiness to host the faculty’s undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students for internships. He also invited the university to the official opening ceremony of OPEN Healthcare’s large molecular diagnostics laboratory—the first of its kind in Kazakhstan—and expressed interest in implementing joint projects.

This collaboration will strengthen scientific ties between Kazakhstan and Korea and create valuable opportunities for young researchers to gain international experience and advance their careers.
