A new look at the history of the Turkic world

The second international meeting "History of the Turkic World" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The aim is to study in depth the common historical heritage of the Turkic world, strengthen historical and cultural ties, exchange scientific information and expand cooperation in the future.
The event brought together: President of the International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, President of the Turkish Historical Society, Professor Yuksel Ozgen, member of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States from Kazakhstan Ikram Adyrbekov, directors of scientific research institutes of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, experts, historians.
Opening the meeting, KazNU Head Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that this event would allow for a new study of the common history of the Turkic countries.
"As the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, "The Turkic world is our common home. We must move into the future together, relying on our historical roots, common language and culture". Al-Farabi Kazakh National University pays special attention to the development of scientific cooperation between the Turkic countries. Our university has close partnerships with more than 36 universities in Turkey, 14 in Kyrgyzstan, 24 in Uzbekistan and 10 in Azerbaijan. As a result of this cooperation, hundreds of students and young scientists gain knowledge and participate in joint research projects", - said the rector.
In turn, the president of the International Turkic Academy, Shahin Mustafayev, noted: "This meeting will give a new impetus to the study of the common historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic world. Today, a deep and comprehensive study of the history of the Turkic peoples is very important not only for science, but also for strengthening our common spiritual unity. This international meeting, which is being held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, is a vivid example of the unity and cooperation of the scientific community in the country and the region", - he said.
In their reports, the participants also discussed important issues related to the history, culture and traditions of the Turkic peoples.
