KazNU ecostartap was highly appreciated

Young scientists of al-Farabi Kazakh National University successfully presented the Kaz-REEcycling startup at the Cleantech Days 2025 international forum, which was held in Istanbul, Turkiye.
20 startup teams from 16 countries participated in this prestigious event. Only the 8 best projects made it to the finals, among which was the KazNU startup.
The Kaz-REEcycling project was awarded a special award in the Greenhouse Gas Impact Potential category, highlighting the team's innovative approach to solving environmental problems.
The startup was highly appreciated by the experts of the international Cleantech platform for its contribution to reducing the negative impact on the environment. In addition, the project was ranked among the best startups of the Center for Technology Commercialization and the Creative Industry.
In 2024, startup founder Gulsara Akanova completed the GCIP (Global Cleantech Innovation Program) acceleration program, organized by UNIDO at the United Nations. At the national stage of GCIP-Kazakhstan in Astana, the project became the winner, won the Women Leadership Award and a cash prize of 3,000,000 tenge. These achievements paved the way for the team to reach the world stage of the competition.
The Cleantech Days Forum aims to bring together experts in the field of sustainable innovation, representatives of clean technology startups and key participants in the global "green" transition.
