Opportunities to Study in France Presented at KazNU

On September 10, 2025, the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an informational session for students and faculty titled “Study Opportunities in France.” The event was organized by the French Center at KazNU in collaboration with representatives of Espace Campus France Almaty. A special presentation was delivered by Agnès Bousset, coordinator of the French Center and Director of the Geo-Energy Center.
During the session, participants were introduced to undergraduate and graduate programs offered by French universities. They received comprehensive information about language requirements, dual degree opportunities, and available support for international students. Particular attention was given to the dual degree programs implemented at KazNU's Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics — namely, the “Mathematics” master's program and the “Mechanics and Energy” program run by the Department of Mechanics. These programs help students gain advanced scientific knowledge and develop professional competencies.
Campus France is the official French government agency promoting higher education in France, with a presence in over 130 countries. In Kazakhstan, it operates in Almaty and Astana. The Espace Campus France Almaty provides free consultations to students on applying to French universities, preparing documents, obtaining visas, and participating in academic mobility programs.
The initiatives presented align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 – Quality Education: supports students in accessing high-quality international education and professional development. SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: contributes to training competitive specialists for the labor market. SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: strengthens educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and France.
Such events facilitate the integration of youth into the global educational community, broaden professional perspectives, and promote appreciation for the values of international science and culture.
