A Lecturer of the Department of Chinese Studies Delivered a Lecture on the “Phenomenon of Soft Power” at the Qadam Club

On September 15, by special invitation, Yerzhan Kerimbayev, PhD, Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of the Department of Chinese Studies for Academic and Educational Work, delivered a lecture for students and young people at the Qadam Educational Club.

The lecture, titled “The Phenomenon of Soft Power”, reflected the main research interests of the scholar. The event was attended by university students from Almaty, professionals from different fields, and others interested in the topic. Among the participants were also many school teachers.

During his talk, Yerzhan Kerimbayev provided a comprehensive and engaging overview of the essence and significance of soft power, its origins, distinctive features, stages of development, and the countries that actively employ this resource in their policies today. He also touched upon the potential of Kazakhstan’s own soft power.

The lecture sparked great interest and enthusiasm among the audience, leading to an active discussion and numerous questions at the end of the session.
