Students of the “Restaurant and Hotel Business” Program Explored Digital Solutions at the Yandex Museum

The Yandex Museum in Almaty is a hub where innovation and modern technologies converge. It was here that 2nd-year students of the “Restaurant and Hotel Business” educational program took part in an extracurricular practical session. The activity was organized within the course “Information Technoloy in Service” by Yeldar Nuruly, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, who teaches this subject to the group.
During the excursion, students explored cutting-edge digital solutions, elements of artificial intelligence, and interactive devices. Particular attention was drawn to the application of Yandex tools in the hospitality industry. This experience enabled students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world practice, fostering innovative thinking and strengthening the professional competencies required for their future careers.
A distinctive feature of the museum is the opportunity not only to view exhibits but also to purchase selected items. This gave students a hands-on understanding of new service formats and a deeper insight into contemporary consumer experiences.
The session is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, it contributes to SDG 4 “Quality Education” and SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” by enhancing students’ digital literacy and preparing them to effectively apply modern technologies in their professional activities.
