The Malachite Hall of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the closing ceremony of the international scientific conference on “The Application of Natural Science Methods in Archaeological Research.”

The conference was held from September 15 to 17, 2025, and was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR).

The organizers of the event were:

  • Al-Farabi Kazakh National University,

  • A. Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology,

  • Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan,

  • Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR),

  • Institute of Nuclear Physics.

The conference brought together leading domestic and foreign scholars in the fields of archaeology, history, anthropology, art, architecture, and natural sciences. The sessions discussed interdisciplinary approaches to studying cultural heritage and the prospects of applying modern methods such as neutron and X-ray imaging, diffraction, activation analysis, and others.

At the closing ceremony, the organizers delivered speeches. From the Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU, Dean Nurzada  Beissen addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of the event for expanding partnerships and strengthening international scientific cooperation.
