From September 15 to 29, 2025, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology of al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted advanced training (retraining) courses for junior specialists of the meteorological services of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The courses were held at the Kazakhstan–China laboratory, where the trainees were given an introductory lecture on the goals and objectives of this laboratory. Meteorological support of the Air Defense Forces plays a crucial role in enhancing the safety, regularity, and efficiency of flights.

Accurate assessment and timely delivery of meteorological information are key to ensuring the safe execution of aviation tasks. To achieve this, meteorological specialists must continuously improve their knowledge and professional skills. The organized courses provided a valuable platform for updating professional competencies, mastering modern forecasting methods, and exchanging experience. Such training enables specialists to stay informed about the latest developments in the field and effectively apply innovative approaches in practice.

These educational initiatives contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 — Quality Education, SDG 8 — Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals), strengthening the country’s human capacity and ensuring reliable meteorological support for flights.
